Book review of The 3 U-Turns of my Life by Jitendra Gian

Blurb: Manav Modi and Deepak Mehra are poles apart - one down to earth, other flamboyant, one introvert, other overtly loud, one aspiring to be rich, the other born with a silver spoon. Except their feelings for Urvashi, they have nothing in common. Yet, they are 'friends'. They part ways, only to come together in a web of destiny that puts them against each other, testing their friendship, love, patience and even their choice of a profession!

"CAs are very conservative and live meagre lives like cockroaches, unlike flamboyant MBAs," he had said. And my race with an MBA inspired me to be the best and greatest chartered accountant. Ever. The 3 U-Turns of My Life?

My Take: From the cover, the story looks like a love story though it’s not about love only. The author wants to unfold the life of CA professionals. In this story, there is a race between a CA and an MBA. The idea is quite good. A story without engineers on it ;-)

The author had also shown the ups and down which came in the life of Manav Modi, a beautiful relationship of Manav and Urvashi, an untold way of friendship between Manav and Deepak Mehra. The most intriguing part in this book was how the little boy Manav supports his family in need. The book depicts the stringent corporate life and how greed pushes people to hell.

The narration and the language are very simple and understandable. The book is a nice read but sometimes I felt losing my interest in the book. Few times the story ran in very fast pace which is a turn off for readers.

Ratings: I can happily rate this book 3 out of 5 as it was a nice one time quick read.
